I took this about a month ago and decided to play with it some more. Cloned out some branches, lightened dark area on head, and sharpened. What do you guys think?

HI Sid !!! Your PS work looks good cloning wise. I would go brighter on the bird. I'm sure the original was a little under exposed even though you had plus compensation.

Light was coming from the left almost back lit. In this case more flash fill would have been the key. A slight more head turn would have made the tip of the beak sharper and we always strive for a better perch. It is a pleasing image and you did well at that low shutter speed !!!

    Hi Sid,
Nice capture, nits have been covered already. For my taste, I don't like the perch ( thick branch ) coming out of the bird's head...

Hey Sid, nice capture and a beautiful bird. Branch seems a bit big in comparison to the bird.

Hi Sid! Nice job with the cloning in PS. I took the liberty of doing some PS work of my own. It involved sharpening the bird and brightening it up as well. What do you think?

Doug, did you notice it is dull(I guess no one else sees this) in color from being presented in Adobe RGB colorspace?

Why am I only one sees this day after day....am I nuts?
My browser need sRGB to view best as far as I know.

and we critique daily without seeing the image at its best.....guess I'm a nut....I give up, going to bed

sorry for the rant in your thread Sid.....apologies

Doug, I like the change. It brings out more of the bird. I was afraid to sharpen it anymore. How much additional sharpening did you do?

BTW, This is the original photo and I wasn't sure there was anything worthwhile about it. It is amazing what can be done to save an image. Thanks.

I sharpened just the bird using smart sharpen with a value of roughly 70.
