    Nice image of this pair. I agree the display by the male adds some nice interest to this image. One of the biggest advices I could give for waterfowl shots is get low..as low as possible to water level. This usually creates a much more pleasing image and draws the viewer into the subject. You will often get a better OOF BG which will help seperate the subjects from the BG. Keep it up

    Thanks for that Bradley. The birds were in the harbour area and the tide was pretty low. I did find a place to sit but it was a restricted view . So I had to just sit and wait for any birds passing by me. I couldn't get any lower, but I reckon if the tide is high, I may well get a good position then

    William ,Bradley as made a good point but sometimes these birds are not always where we would like them, think I might loose a bit off the top, it's a very nice capture of these birds.

    the Eider has a nice pose, I wish the light angle was better and you had some detail in the blacks. ideally both of them would be parallel to the back of the camera
