    Default Angry Gull

Generally, the group of gulls on the local lake will scatter whenever one of the resident eagles flies over. In this case, several Great Black-backed Gulls were enjoying their dinner on the lake when the Bald Eagle made a failed attempt to swoop down and grab their fish. This gull was annoyed enough to go after the eagle, who despite the harassment made a large circle and came back down for a successful grab of the fish. This is a very large crop so IQ suffers, but I thought the interaction was worth sharing. I also thought it was interesting to note how large the GBB Gull is in comparison to the eagle. C&C appreciated.

Thanks for showing the interaction and the size comparison. The overlapping wings show this well although for esthetic purposes it would be nicer to have no overlap- but that defeats the purpose of your image!!
You had great light for this shoot.
Interesting to see the bands on the eagles feet.
I agree the IQ has suffered from the large crop so I would crop looser. My biggest wish for this image is that the eagle was looking to the viewers left or at the gull.

Nice behavior captured Bill. My first thought was it is a bit tight at the top so may not need to be so tightly cropped if you have more there.
Also did you have to recover the side of the Gull's head, It looks a bit posterized or is that just my monitor?
Overall definitely worth sharing so thanks for that.

Yes, Iain, the head was shaded, so I did some recovery. I may have done it a little hastily. Thanks for the comments.
