    Default BPN Get-Together....Florida Style

Just got back from a great week of bird photography in Florida with my wife and David Salem. Spent a day photographing with Jim Neiger on Lake Blue Cypress, and then moved over to the Tampa- St. Pete. area for a visit to Fort De Soto. Marina Scarr was kind enough to both guide us around and organize a little BPN get-together. Here's a picture of the group getting wet at De Soto. From left to right: David Salem, Amy Marques, Marina Scarr, Cheryl Arena, me, and Kristin Brown. Missing is David Pugsley. Cheryl really seems to be enjoying her new camera gear! After a morning of photography, we headed to a nearby deli for an afternoon of good food and great conversation!

Yesterday was one of the most fun-filled photography days I have experienced in a long time. The smiles on our faces are REAL b/c we had some amazing opportunities. My friend George Veazey took the image for us. I made sure we didn't get too close to our background so that it would be a better backdrop for a group photo op. Unfortunately, fellow BPN member David Pugslely was still out at the beach shooting and didn't make the group shot. There were 10 of us at a nearby deli for lunch where we spent two hours telling stories, sharing images and laughing. Then it was back to Fort Desoto for some mor emore amazing photography. It was a VERY long day, but so much fun and great opportunities. Thank you all for making it such a special day.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!! Certainly dressed a lot lighter than us up here (another 10-15cms of snow on the way *sigh*). OK Doug, sneaky giving Cheryl some new equipment...did David approve?

Good eye! David didn't mind 'loaning' his rig to her.

What a wonderful few days of photography! It was great to meet Marina, Cheryl, Amy and David P. in person. It was great to see you again David S. It really helps to put faces to the names! Thank you George for taking the photo! I wanted to steal all the birds and bring them back to New Mexico but my suitcase was too small.
