    This is a male harrier (aka the grey ghost) from HMB, CA. taken last fall. These are very skittish raptors, I got one pass only. Hope you like it

    That look back head turn is perfect. Also love the bit of incuded habitat. Such a hard bird to photograph and yours image is over the top.

    Another terrific shot, Arash. The fact that he was just past you shows his signature white rump to advantage, and is more than compensated by the great head turn. Also love the sense of habitat. As you noted, you don't get many changes with these guys.

    The looking back is perfect, so is the background and down wing position.

    What's not to like. The head turn, piercing eye, down wing position and extended legs/feet all add to the complimentary light and bg.
