Default A Coot in per suit!

I took a number of images of a battle between at first two then up to four coots, at first it was a good photo opportunity but it turned really nasty, it was more than a punch up, in the end one coot was nearly drowned.
    All C&C welcome.

Jonathan-I'm on my laptop so subtlety is lost, but this looks spot on re: Exposure and tonal range, something of a challenge with the 7D and brighter light. Nice timing to get both feet in the air, I also like that the head is turned slightly inward. Details also look well rendered. A solid action shot.

It's a great walk-on-water shot Jonathan and love the wing and head position on this all too often difficult bird to expose properly.

Jonathan you really are being kept busy with that camera of yours, you have captured the action with this one, great piece of work.

Great action grab Jon. Maybe some space right for the bird to "run into" would be good.

The running pose is excellent. Exposure control is very good. I like the details in the plumage and the low angle.

Excellent action shot, Jon. Great to see both funky looking feet.

Well done Jon, those coots are hard to catch when racing across the water.
The head looks just slightly soft compared to the rest of the bird but still a very nice image.

I would sharpen the head a touch more, but A fine running coot and they run fast!

Excellent image, Jonathan. Very nicely exposed with beautiful details in blacks. Great action captured.
