    Default Hummingbird Photography

I want to get more involved with photographing hummingbirds and have been trying to find a high speed flash system. I see people referring to the OLSON system but when I try to Google it I can't find out anything about it or where to buy it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim Parker

You don't need a special flash system for multi flash hummer setups. If you shoot Canon, 5 - 430 EX's will do. Two on the left/right of the bird. One shooting up under the bird for gorget, I above the head to add 3 dimensionality and one on your background of choice.

The Olson High Speed Flash system is no longer produced. Regular flashes will work just fine for hummingbirds. The Olson flash heads just allow a greater distance between flash and subject and a wider area of coverage.
