    Default Northern Hawk Owl

Taken in the frozen tundra that is Sax Zim Bog up in Northern Minnesota. I've tried 3 years in a row to get a shot of this species of owl, even breaking my leg last year in the attempt. This year I was finally rewarded.

    Canon EOS-1D X, 70-200mm f/2.8 @ 200mm, F/5.6, 1/2500s, ISO400

Great image Conrad and congrats on finally getting an image. Persistence always pay off! The pose by the bird is superb. My only problem is with the foreground branch on the right hand side it can be a bit distracting. I wonder if it can be clone out?

Thanks Raybel! I thought about taking that out. I'll see how it looks
