    Default Long Billed Curlew

Another one from my trip to S. CA. I wasn't expecting to get low and on my belly for this shoot and it was a huge surprise to feel the cold water on me (let's just say it's a few degrees colder than what I was used to in FL). Glad I got low.

I was patient and waited for this guy to get in front of some greens. He didn't stay long (I think I have 5-8 total frames with green in it).

I cloned out a small dark patch on the bottom right of the image and cleaned up a second catchlight in the eye.

    Shooting Info:
    Canon 5D3 | 500 f/4 II + 1.4x
    1/1600 | f/7.1 | ISO 400

Nice low angle shooting, just the right amount of head turn and eye contact. Nice painterly background. Well done, Miguel.

Hi Miguel, really great job on this. Its hard to be patient for the background sometimes I am learning how to be better at that. Is that a drip of water off the beak? If it is its a nice touch too.

Like a watercolor...that bg so perfectly sets off the bird. Another beauty, Miguel and nothing but positives from me.

Hi Miguel, you couldnt have shot any lower - brilliant perspective here. Exquisite light, and you managed a great pose. Well thought out to get him against the distant green BG, and the tiny droplet on the end of the bill adds interest. Did you capture it falling off.
