What a sweet bird. The light is so nice. There are a couple of specular highlights (I think that's what those bright circle things are called) that I would clean up and also looks like the tip of the beak may have been caught in a selection or accidentally blurred somehow which I would fix.

A really nice image. Beautiful light and tones. The way that the light hits the grass draws the viewer to the birds head as opposed to the darker area in the focal plane, which is interesting. Sharpness looks good but contrast might be a tick high. Nicely done!

Hi Holger, lovely low shooting angle, and I really like the light - late afternoon???? Nice detail on the skylark, sharp, and although the BG grasses seem to clash with the bird, he still manages to standout.

Holger agree with you they can be a bit hard to get up to, nit re contrast and the birds beak covered but that apart it's a fine looking image.

Beautiful image of lark in habitat. Best way to get them out of grass is to keep some (bigger than grass) stones/rocks in then grass of their routine feeding place. To watch surrounding they sit on the rock for some time.

    Regards,
    Satish.
