These jackdaws are preparing a nest on a high wall overlooking my local harbour in Fife, Scotland. They are sharing the nesting area with several pairs of fulmars

Any advice on the image greatly appreciated

Hi William, looks like some decent weather & your PP is coming along too.

Lucky to get this close, they normally fly oh so quickly. I don't mind the comp, although the blacks look a little thin, did you lift (lighten) them? Might be tempted to reduce the yellow a little.

Hi Steve, I used the shadows/highlights adjustment in an attempt to bring out more feather detail. There was a strong morning sun on the birds. Maybe used the adjustment a wee bit too much

Indeed it's a powerful too that needs a light hand.

Cool, I hope you get the chance to document the progress! Good exposure and setting...I especially like the tuft of grass at right. I also dig the golden hues to the rockface behind the birds. A bit of noise in the blacks, surely due to the S/H tool being used to aggressively as mentioned by both you and Steve. This would have been killer good with the head angles turned more towards us.

    Hi Daniel

    Thanks for that

This is the another image of one of the birds, where the head angle is turned more towards us

I love these birds and will be watching them often, as they are only 5 mins from my house
