Karl it's not often that you see them nicely perched like this, excellent detail on the bird and I really like the two tones of the BG,very nice indeed.

Nice thin perch, not often that happens with this species. I like the pose with a nice head angle. Critical focus seems to be on the shoulder? Here's an alternate crop, and some cyan's added to the colour balance (I thought the OP was a bit too red)

Thanks, Daniel. I like the repost. Yes, the focus was on the shoulder. I just checked. I have at least two nice one, having the focus on the head. I might post one of them.

Karl, it is rare to get a snow bunting image like this. I do like what Daniel has done, but you did a fantastic job capturing it. I am wondering if the out focus branch in front was done in post?

Hi Karl, I saw these guys the first time this past February in Ottawa and they are very small. To be able to capture this species close up and with a good perch is no small feat. You had excellent details and sharpness and lovely BG. Daniel's RP hits the target for me. TFS. Loi

    Hi Karl,
very nice shot from this little bird. I prefer Daniels repost but you have made a good job. Head angle, pose, details and exposure control works well.
The only thing i see is behind the y from Egressy a "shadow" from the perch. I would remove this.

Hi Karl, what a super pose. You have brought excellent detail, overall sharp, and what a killer BG. I do like Dan's comp.

Lovely image and pose here. I might even take a bit more off the right. If the focus point was on the shoulder, is there a way in post processing toimprove the sharpness on the head? If you are using PS, would using a bit larger radius in the sharpening tool help on the head? I have this problem frequently when the birds are small in the frame.

Very nice, and unusual, shot of a Snow Bunting. Good BG, nice light and pose. I like Daniel's comp, but to me it looks a little too blue -- maybe halfway in between? Did you run NR on the perch?

Focus on the shoulder on not (good catch, Daniel), I love this image and the RP works even better. Another good catch by Daniel on the cast, b/c I did not see it at all. Even now when I toggle up and down, I can't tell the difference. I do prefer moving the bird to the left of the frame a little more though. This is a very special image, Karl. The perch is perfect and I like the BG very much.
