I think this is my first post to this forum; there will be more as I Venture Into Unknown Territory. Due to health issues I have significantly reduced my land/seascapes photography and the silver lining is that I have increased my macro/closeup photography including experimenting with processing I would have never consider in the past.

I shot these leaves intentionally not using a PL as I wanted the glare to see what I could do with it.

Jay, welcome to OOTB! Great first post!! I like the composition, the DOF and especially the colors that are quite complementary. The themes are at the top of the Forum - it really stretches my imagination and is fun in case you want to explore. There are a lot of really talented, artistic people here - I'm sure you'll fit right in

Welcome Jay! Great composition with the diagonal of the two main leaves and super color effects! The blues & purples especially add a great contrast. The black outlines nicely separate the main leaves from the blurred bkgd. Please share what you did for this image. Looks like we'll enjoy your silver lining, but sorry about the changes you must make.

Welcome to this part of the world. I like the strong diagonal and the warm/cool color contrast in this image and look forward to what comes next.

    Hi Jay,

Sympathies for the health issues, but welcome to a new world! This is truly gorgeous -- colors are so well separated by the lines The obviously shallow DOF is a great touch, and not easy to do with techniques like this, which tend to flatten everything.

Hi Jay, welcome to the artsy side of BPN. I like what you did with the image. I like your color palette and the way the leaves are outlined. I got an E-M1 and Oly 12 - 40 f/2.8 lens for Christmas but I haven't used it much due to 2 cataract surgeries, one in Jan and one in Feb., and colder weather this winter. Now that Spring weather is here (most days), I hope to go out and shoot some flowers and plants soon.

Hi Jay, nice to see you here! I hope your silver lining leads to ever increasing exploration of the possibilities of images. Nice colors and use of edge darkening to enhance the shapes. Don't be a stranger!
