Lesser Scaup with Open Beak (Tokyo)
Had been inactive for quite a while, but I finally got the chance to photograph our avian friends this week.
Lesser Scaup (Aythya affinis , female)
Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan, 12 Mar 2014
40D, 400mm, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/800 sec, manual exposure
This is stunning. Really like the low shooting angle. The open beaks really makes the image. Super.

Beauty of a pic, Mark. FG and BG are what we all look for when shooting ducks. The lack of a thumbnail is hiding this gem. BPN has got to do something about it.

Great open-bill pose and nice low shooting angle.
