I accidentally made this selfie yesterday when I was trying to switch from the front camera to the back camera and my thumb hit the shutter button. I liked the trees so I played around with it on the iPad and in Photoshop and a new computer app called Photo Effect Studio Pro for PC and Mac on sale for a few days for $14, half price at Mighty Deals www.mightydeals.com/deal/photoeffectstudio.html I love it! I also used a jixipix app called Kyoobic on this one which added the colored squares. I had never used it before.

You certainly took good advantage of an accident. The direction of the light was fortunate; it made a huge difference. I really like the colored square effect, too.

Thanks Dennis! I almost deleted it but then my OOTB thinking kicked in and saved it.

Very cool! When I was fairly new to the iPhone camera I did an inadvertent selfie, and think I set a world's record for how fast one can delete an image.

Well I've not taken many selfies, accidental or or purpose, but with the back camera I've shot my foot, the floor 3 times, and a closeup of my blue jeans which might make a good texture! On the iPad I did a hilarious selfie making faces and used an app where everything moves and warps and you click save when it gets like you want it. I have only showed that one to a small number of people! I was imitating "the scream", haha.

Thanks Dennis. I agree about the light coming from the south in mid-afternoon.

Score one for OOTB! Great idea to keep it and make this cool image. Nice effects!

The bkgd is great with the tree outline and the different colored squares. With the dark vignette and the tree looking like it is about to fall on you and your face dark, maybe you are doing "the scream"!

The background is beautiful, including the squares. Not so keen on your selfie--too dark.

Judy, I'm glad I'm not the only one doing inadvertent "selfies" (not to mention numerous images of my feet!). Great OOTB thinking and execution
