Got off work this morning at 6am and went to the local spot to see if any new migrants had arrived. While getting out my camera and binoculars, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye...this night heron had just caught a meal....didn't give me much time but manage to shoot a burst of 3 shots...kind of lucky, in focus..but hey I'll take it. Heron was in shade, very early light.

    Fantastic image Paul,
Love the composition and the habitat. The reflection of the bird and the log is great...CONGRATS...:D

I like this composition. Handheld with the 200-400? Nicely done.

Very good capture. Wish for a little better light as I'm sure you do as well. Just seems a bit flat.

Hi Paul, I really dig the composition here. The darks could go darker though, especially on the heron itself. :-)
