A very nice image of this sweet wagtail.
You have a terrific BG and the perch is OK. I would like to see you loosen the crop a bit at the bottom and LHS and place the bird on the RHS of the frame.
I would also dodge the darker line running through the wooden handrail.
    Exposure looks good.
The side lighting works but it sure would have been nice to get the sun further behind you.
I might also sharpen the eye a bit more.
A few tweaks and I think this image would be even nicer than it already is,
    Gail

Great little bird, William. I think that side lighting works best when it hits the face...in this case, with the face in shadow, and the side of his face overexposed as a result, I'm not a fan.

Neat bird and slightly fluffed up plumage. Neat ground...is that a wooden deck? I agree the comp is tight, and the side-lighting not working to your advantage. Had the head been angled alot more towards us you may have had some sunlight hitting it.
