I used high shutter speed for these guys as they are on a constant move.
    Sharpened only the bird.
    Thanks for looking.

Another nice image from you Karl.
You have been nailing the color of the snow perfectly as well as the texture of the snow. Do you have a special workflow for the snow color? If you do, please share.
    Bird looks lovely and sharp.
Although I know the bird was sinking in the snow it would be nice to see a little bit of foot but not a deal breaker!

    Thanks, Gail.
    I don't really.
My friend uses a gray card and uses custom white balance.
    He says it works.
    I don't do it.

Difficult bird to photograph! This is far better than any in my files. I could see a tighter crop, especially from the bottom. Personal preferance, of course. Your birds in snow this winter have been most enjoyable.

Lovely Horned Lark, great granular texture to the snow. I could see a crop from below, and also a better head angle (it's not bad as is, just would prefer a bit more towards us). Sharpness and techs are perfect.

Very nice exposure and IQ, Karl. Those horns show up so nicely. I would go with a tighter composition - coming in from the bottom and from the right.

A nice species Karl. And I agree that the is very good detail on snow and great light on bird. I also would suggest to crop on bottom a little.
