    Default Knuckle Head

I'm off to lead a safari to the Chobe river in Botswana on Wednesday, so this is my last post for a while.
I've been loving the response to the monthly theme, so here's one to keep things ticking over in that direction. An old boy from the northern Kruger National Park.

Love the lighting, detail and colour here Morkel, small nit for me is the framing is a little tight on top.
Enjoy Chobe, a real birders paradise, are you using the photog boat again?

Bit tight, but then it is a headshot :) sublime light and bags of detail.

Your title gave me a big chuckle! All super good details & lighting but I also feel it is a bit squeezed for a massive head. Looks like you had something on the immediate right that dictated this crop. Off to Chobe in Botswana myself in a month and hope to see your trip highlights before I leave.

Hi Morkel - Nice light. I agree its a bit tight but it also doesn't seem as sharp as your usual images. Finally, I'm not a fan of the sliver of oof tree on the rhs. Sorry just not one of your best for me. Enjoy Chobe and I'm sure you'll come back with much better images as usual.

    TFS,
    Rachel

    Thanks folks.
    Marc - yep, the boat.
Rachel - I know it's not a good shot per se, posted more "for the theme" as it were

Nice, Morkel! You don't need someone to carry your equipment, do you? I envy you - enjoy (it's my turn in September)!

Nice to see this animal, Morkel, some tweaks needed as mentioned, but a nice close up look.

    Hi Morkel

Agree with crop, but the Mopane behind his head dictated it, I suppose.
Can see him ruminating, contemplation about the past...
Like the mood of this image.
    Regards

    Andre.

Hi Morkel, I would look to adding a bit more depth & tone back in, looks a little light overall, just some simple tweaks will take this up a gear very easily.
