    Close to a nest box in a local park recently.

    D300, Nikon 80-400, hand-held.

    Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/1000 second
    Aperture = F7.1
    Exposure Bias (EV) = 0/1 = 0
    Metering Mode = spot (3)
    Flash = Flash did not fire

    This one has a very nice pose.....and I love all that iridescence. Great BG and simplicity. It looks like there might be a little noise....perhaps a large crop? I'd be tempted to crop a little off the bottom for less of the perch.

    Richard, Very nice pose, composition and exposure. I love the rich neon blue on your bird. Agree with Lana on cropping just a wee bit from the bottom of the perch. I do see noise in the background...:D

    I like it a lot Richard !!! You did very well with the light. About the only thing I wold like to have is a smaller perch. The large stump overpowers the little guy !!! btw very difficult photographing these guys in anything more delicate !!!!
