A group of gulls were hunting for food on the thin ice. One got a fish (I believe) and was then hounded by the others for the meal. There was a lot of air acrobatics, the fish fell back to earth a few times, and in the end a gull completely unrelated got the fish and ate it. It was some cool action, and here is a shot of when the first gull gets the food and the others close in on him.

Pretty neat action you witnessed...those gulls never cease to be interesting and this scene is typical of the behaviour they offer. I actually wish you only had four gulls here as the top one is quite blocked. I also get the impression the image may need some CCW rotation, not much, but enough to be noticed. I like what appears to be a forest edge along the top.
