I found a dipper's nest so hopefully I will be getting more images. Trying to get the right angle for the light and trying not to get too many pale stones in the background is problematical especially this morning. This shot is from a couple of days ago, the light is mostly from the back I liked the way it illuminated the leaf, I used a little fill in flash - with the pop up.
    All C&C welcome.

Beautiful setting for the Dipper. The moss covered perch looks very nice, the fallen leaf in the beak is a great addition. I seem to recognize the same colors in the background as in the bird which is very nice.
    Nice overall image, Jon.

Lovely setting for this image Jonathan. One of the best dipper photographs i have seen. (If anything I would have preferred a more side on photograph as the sticks (although cool) block out quite a bit of the face and beak)

I really like the way you've balanced all the elements of this shot. Very nice IQ, you made a really good capture and I like it a lot. He certainly does have a mouthful, which adds even more interest. I'd suggest that you have a lot of room in the highlights here, and a quick curves layer to brighten the image would bring out a lot of detail and make the leaf and moss colors really pop.

    This is really nice.
I love the lacy leaf. Lots of detail and interest in the leaf.
I find my eye is pulled away by the white streak on the right hand side . I would work on that area to tone it down.
Really like the curved rock and green moss.
I think you will have a lot of good shots from this nest site and am looking forward to more,
    Gail

Well done Jonathan, I think the green colours on the rock go very well with the colours on the dipper

Awesome perch and I like the nesting material (there is even a bit of greenery in there!) I agree the larger white area could toned down. Pretty exciting find you got there...sounds like you got yourself a little project!

Jonathan agree with Gail re the white bits, the bird itself and it's perch look really good and the leaf as almost a butterfly effect, very nice indeed.

Thanks very much for the feedback everyone, I did tone down the water on the RHS quite considerably, hopefully the following images will have a slightly different background - it is tricky because of course the waves are very bright but so are some of the rocks.
