    Frank:

Great action indeed. Blurred wings, flying water, low angle all work well. Engaging head angle.

I might consider a small crop off the bottom, to just below the top of your signature.

It looks like perhaps there is a drop just in front of the pupil. I might consider toning that down, so the eye looks sharper. Drops elsewhere on the bird never bother me, but the eye needs to be as good as possible.

    Cheers

Super shot Frank, I try not to read previous comments but I did notice Randy's and they are very much the same as I would say. You did well with the exposure I know how tricky it can be.

What a killer splash and image you have here, Frank. Not sure how large of a crop this is, but if it were mine, I would consider a healthy crop off of the bottom and some off of the right. If the reflection were better, I would love it as is. However, I think with a crop, the image will better focus the viewer's eye on the behavior and will not be drawn down the frame as it is now.

I gave it a try here. It's amazing how with the crop, it's a completely different image. I like both versions.

I as going to suggest a crop from below, so Marina's repost is just the ticket for me. I would also look at the ye as per Randy. Excellent action, details, exposure. Love the curved shape of the grebe here too.

Superb action shot, Frank. The tighter crop by Marina makes you focus on the action even more. Pun is not intended.

The recrop perfectly brings attention to the activity and that wonderful red eye. Very nice capture Frank!
