Default Not a Rosy Finch ....

Took a quick trip after work to the other side of the mountain to see if I could get a glimpse of a Rosy Finch. Well, I got a glimpse of one but never pulled the trigger. I was treated to some other species including: Mountain Chickadee, Red and White Bellied Nuthatches, and this Dark Eyed Junco.

Placed some seed in the snow (of which I had to clone out a bit in post) to get him to come down to this patch of snow.

    Shooting Info:
    Canon 5D3 | 500 f/4 II + 1.4x III
    1/640" | f/5.6 | ISO 800

    Sweet little bird.
Nice low POV and the snow color looks good.
    Beautiful details in the feathers.
Sharp on the head and eye and accept that even at F22 you would not have gotten the tail in focus at such close range! Just wish the far foot was in focus.

Ooh, we don't see the grey-headed morph very often...what a treat! Awesome details, and I like the snowy surroundings. I'd look at perhaps darkening the pupil. Well done Miguel!

This is a great looking Dark-eyed Junco with tons of details, Miguel.

I admire your dedication! You came up with a winner of a frame while I was inside trying to stay warm. Here's a shot of Miguel positioned for this series of images.
