Flaunting its newly acquired breeding plumage, this proud looking ruddy turnstone was on the march along the top of a jetty.

Great walking pose with excellent detail and BG! Nice that you managed to get both feet visible.

Would like to see a little more room all around, especially at bottom and right.

    Was this at Barnegat Light?

    Rob:

Looks like he is marching, lovely breeding colors. I wish the light had been just a bit more to the left, so the breast was better lit..

I do agree with Mike that the comp is a bit tight. For me, esp needs a bit more below and to the right, but a bit more all around would work as well.

    Cheers

Awesome marching pose, and yes this fella looks plenty proud of his attire! I do wish the oof fg part of the rock was not so prominent, but you did well with this marching fella...very enjoyable image.

Lovely colours and pose, I wonder if a little dodging on the breast would help? I too think a slightly looser crop would improve presentation. Nevertheless a very pleasing image.

Thanks everyone for your much appreciated comments. I will take a look at the full image but I think the jetty in the foreground is out of focus. That is why I cropped this so tight. Thanks again!

Lovely image! I also agree that the image is a bit tight. I could see an update with the raised leg to be slightly brighter than what it is. Great capture!!!

Just love the proud, striding pose and the perfect exposure. The bird pops against that bg and I actually like the slightly angled light. A looser comp would work for me too, if possible. Very lovely image.

Really nice coloration and pose, it's interesting how well they blend with the tones of the jetty. Been a long time since I've been to Barnegat-will have to make some time!
