Another one from SoCal last year.
Not a pose I'd typically go for but it somehow worked for me in this case. I felt it had a 3D feel to it (or that could be the wine talking :)

    Canon 1D4, 700mm
    1/2500, iso 6.3, iso 640
    HH, manual

    All feedback appreciated.
    Thanks.

I posted one a while back that I called 3D shoveler also. They make such great subjects and this eclipse drake is no exception. It looks 3D because its so sharp and the duck looks suspended over that beautiful blue water that this location can give. This shot also has that unique overhead shooting angle that this location provides helping to add to the effect. The techs look great. Another beautiful duck frame from your trip down to see us Sid.
    Well done.

Very nice Sidharth. You nailed the focus and the exposure and IQ look great. I like the angle of the bird and the wing position.

You really nailed this flight shot, Sid. The only thing that could have improved it would have been the male in breeding colors.

Fantastic look at the near wing and its colours. Some areas in the whites of the chest could be toned down IMO, and I agree with Marina about the plumage. Superb sharpeness, and yes, a 3D feel to the image...
