Mourning Dove
Spring, TX
D800, ISO 800, f8, 1/200, Fill @ -2.3EV
One from my backyard yesterday. Wish for more DOF for the tail but with very dark conditions, my ISO was pushed to my max, leaving me with limited shutter and aperture.

Alan,
Great selection of perch with those pinks really helping the image pop just a tad more. I like the faint catchlight (which I assume was caused by the flash?).
In a perfect world, the tail would have been lifted just a tad so as to not intersect with the branch. I do wish the oof leaves on the right (not necessarily the ones in the corner) were not present.

Another nice setup Alan. The redbud branches and flowers frame the dove so nicely. Head turn is just perfect IMO.

This is one of the beautiful dove images i have seen. The eye contact is great. Colours and perch, too. Well done, Alan.
Alan, you are a true craftsman when it comes to this type of imagery. I too might try a version without the leaves in the lower right. Placement, size and uniform tone cause them to compete with the subject. As Holger commented-this is also one of the best Dove presentations I've seen. TFS-R
It's a beautiful composition Alan!
Alan, you know you could have had Mourning Doves on plain bare branches with plain white snow BG when you were up here rather than this intricate spring-like colourful one eh! Oh well, maybe next timeKidding aside, this is quite wonderful and well balanced image. Love it.
A lovely image I like the colours and the pose, the bird is in an ideal position, the overall composition is very eye catching.
Hi Alan, a very gentle and easy on the eye image. Good detail and the soft BKG colours combine very well with the flowering tree. Everything balances well, with a nice sense of space too.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
In our area, Mourning Doves perch on wires! You sure made this image much more interesting!
Very very sweet frame.

Satish.
Excellent details, love the perch, great pose, very nice background, and nice light.
