Was lucky to have the opportunity to photograph this Barred Owlet as it began to appear at the nest cavity. I love the character of the nest tree and the BG on this one.

C & C always most welcomed and much appreciated.

There was only one in the nest last year. I am going to guess it was 2 weeks old at the time I photographed this. I was only invited for 2 shoots...on this day, and the day he climbed up on a limb almost a week later. This year, I hear the nest has 2 chicks. I have requested permission to revisit the nest but don't think it's going to happen this year. This was a very tough shoot in low light, heavy canopy, no flash and some rain. It was so easy to fall in love with this little owl!

Oh they look so cuddly and innocent. Great fluffy gray capture in the subdued light. Nest cavity shape outlines owlet nicely-did you see the parents?

I saw only one of the adults on both occasions. She came in for a feeding. Actually fed the owlet fish from a nearby pond. I wouldn't have believed it except that I have a picture of the fish in her beak! I never did see the male, although I imagine he was close by. I didn't want to miss anything with the chick and had only a small window of time on private property.

Not much to say except I wish I was there photographing with you guys in a couple of weeks. This must be such a treat to witness, let alone photograph.

In this image, I might consider removing the second catchlight in the eyes. Otherwise, I'm a fan.

A terrific image, Marina. Love everything about this one. You've handled the tough light masterfully. I've got to make it to Florida someday.

You sure have been getting some nice owl images and it looks like you are really getting out there and paying your dues and your hard work has paid off with another unique and beautiful image.
The nest cavity is awesome and the pose is very cute. The solid techs and the smooth BG round off a very nice owl capture. Well done Marina

What a nice find, I also like the character of the tree, A big bonus, looks like you were nearly level with the owl. Well done.
