Hi Joe, This one is sharp with a nice head turn. If the image can stand it, a tighter crop would put more emphasis on the subject--it is kinda lost in that big frame. The bird is nicely positioned between the barbs; it is likely that you would have preferred a natural perch. The harsh light and the shadow on the tail are problematic. Thanks for posting.

Sweet bird, terrific BG but the perch isn't the best...

I like the pose, sharpness and clean BG. I too would prefer a more natural perch. Nice image Joe.

Thank you Arthur for viewing, commenting and offering suggestions. It is an enjoyable journey and any advice is welcomed. Have a safe trip home, if I remember correctly on Tuesday.

Thank you Gail, agreed on the perch. I followed this bird along the road for a while, he always landed on the barbed wire, so I tried to make the best of it.

This species is one of the earlier migrants up here so this image is making me look forward to its return (another 4-5 weeks!). I agree with Artie's critique, but I will also add that I wish its head was not cocked upwards. Very nice BG...that is one advantage of photographing along rural roads.
