    Found these youngsters in the Kruger National Park during December...

    Canon 7D and 500mm F4 L lens
    1/640s at F4 and ISO 500

    Hey Rudi, hope all is well mate.

    I like the skin and tusk detail/texture but my only hang up it that I find the image doesn't quite speak for itself in terms of what the elephant is doing IMO. The eye draws you into the fine skin detail but then I am left wishing the frame was wider so we can see more of the 2nd elephant.

    Is that 500mm a recent pre kid number 2 gift to self?

    Hi Rudi, i'm with Jamie here. I think this shot needs to be done wider. also at F4 you don't have much DOF. while the eye is in sharp focus, the trunk is a bit soft. Loi

    Hi Rudi,
    i am going against the flow, i really like this , it is all about the eye and the look in your face, very seldom we see the eyes of them that clear, so well done i think.
    Like the color, the detail and the overall contrast, but i would suggest to play with more tonal variations in the mid tones, but not overall , selectively works better .I would work only on the main subject , so be gentle with the tweaks if like my suggestions.
