    I would have like to have got a little lower for this but it was taken from a hide window. I quite liked how the light almost burnt out the colour in the water.
    Nikon D7000 300mm AF + 1.4x. 1/1600 sec f7.1 ISO 800.

    This is nice.I do like the water but feel this image would have been so much stronger if you could have gotten lower.
    The reflection is nice and that calm water is a photographers dream.
    I like your comp but think a pano would work well or just an all around tighter comp if this is not big crop already,

    Thanks Gail I appreciate your advice. I think that not getting low enough is one of may main issues with birds at ground level at the moment.
    The crop is around 50% of the original so I don't think it would stand up to much more cropping but agree a pano would work without affecting the IQ any more.

    I like the high key and reflection here. I would prefer a tighter crop myself

    Thanks Cheryl. I think I need to work on getting closer so I can crop to the size I want more easily. I know where the are some that will come really close but surrounded by woods so the lighting is always difficult so just need some good weather.
