This species has always eluded me at home. I hear them singing in the grass, or see them popping up for a short flight in the distance, but can never get a shot. I had to travel to Belize to find a cooperative one. Shot from a truck window several weeks ago. C&C appreciated.

Bill, lovely colors, singing pose is really nice. Brilliant colors look well rendered with a complimentary bg. Maybe a slight bit more sharpening on the cheek, slight ccw rotation. Like this one a lot.

You nailed this one, Sir William ! I agree that a slight ccw rotation to angle the post perfect vertical would be nice.

I really like the singing pose and soft color of the background. This little bird must have been a highlight for your trip. Agree on the CCW rotation, otherwise looks really fine to me. Well done.

Beautiful image Bill. This is one bird on my bucket list. I have seen them here as you have but never close enough. They say patience is a virtue.

Hi Bill, another cool image and killer BKG. The subject 'pops' nicely against a soft muted green backdrop. I don't have an issue with the lean of the post, I think if you rotate it the subject may look odd?

Love the open beak, trilling away.

Thanks everyone. Interesting that everyone (except Steve) assumed the post should have been vertical. It was not. I'm with Steve, that if I rotated it he might fall over backwards.

Bill, the human eye is a wonderful thing, if it looks 'visually' right, then that's fine by me, but sometimes an extra pair of eyes are useful too.
