White-backed Ducks are pretty difficult to locate in Southern Africa. Seeing this tiny fledgling was a real highlight. How cute is this little guy?
Medium crop, sharpened for web. Overcast day so brightened up.

Yes I like the subtle tones and what a unique creature. Good detail n BG. Would crop in pano, too much space at bottom.

Richard looks a bit dark around the face on my monitor, that apart I really like the detail and the water droplets and the reflection, certainly is cute.

Hi Richard, Im very familiar with white-faced ducks, but must admit, never seen a white-backed duck before, or a juvie. Good swimming angle, and we have a good view of the droplets on the plumage. The overcast weather hasnt helped with bringing out more exposure, so maybe 'lightening' the face a touch more may help. Comp wise, I would take a bit off the top.

Thanks for the comments guys. Will look to lighten the face and change the comp somewhat. Appreciate the time!
