Default Kafue Lechwe Ewe and lambs

On this particular morning the mountains were shrouded in cloud but a brief shaft of sunlight picked out this ewe and lambs on the dam wall.

Martin, I like the mood here with the fog and golden sun light shining this little family. IMHO, this image is crying for more room on both the left and right. I understand you wanted to include the fog. I wonder, with hindsight, this may be the situation where multi-frame exposure calls for. TFS. Loi

Beautiful setting and nice light. I like the vertical comp.

Hi Martin - beautiful light and the fog adds to the mood. Sharpness looks good. I like the vertical comp but would like to see an animalscape in landscape orientation for comparison. Any chance you took any horizontal images? There's a dust spot on the left hand side.

    TFS,
    Rachel

    Thanks Loi, Sanjeev, Rachel.

Yes, I noticed the dust spot.
I had removed it from the the file I attempted to first post but it was too large. When I created the second, smaller, file, I neglected to clean the spot. I saw it as soon as I posted but do not know how to delete a post before anyone else sees it.

Lovely mood and some nice light falling on the lechwe to lift them from the mist.
I think in horizontal this will look better, with more for the eye to explore in FG, rather than the dead space on top. Not that it doesn't work as posted...

Love the contrast of the light and dark! Beautiful clean lighting and colors on the lechwe and the surrounding grasses. And the bkgd fades beautifully into the fog with just outlines of the hills receding. Nice for two of the lechwe to pose so well and 3rd still has his head with a good side view.

Hi Martin, for me it works as presented with all the dead space above the subject ….. Like the overall concept and the colors you show here.
I would just give the subjects a bit more depth ,but just only a bit.

Wow that is really eye catching, I appreciate the tall foggy element and would not wish to destroy it but I think I would consider cropping the top 1.5->2cm. I love the light and the colours.
