Strangely effective with the direct overhead sunlight. Did you convert to B&W? Would you have preferred a dead-on stare?

Hi Morkel - Nice head shot to start this month's theme. Looks like the light might have been strong but it certainly gave you a lot of great detail and textures. I like the pov and the comp. The only thing I'm not sure about is the cyan/blue toning. It's not something we see often and it may just be that it takes some getting used to. I'd love to know your thoughts in choosing the cyan/blue toning.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Morkel, glad that I had a jumped on you to start the theme. Had gone to bed, but woke up at 1AM, so I said let's me get a jump start. Love the sharpness and incredibly rich details on your rhino. The only thing I would wish for is the light wasn't so strong that created the shadow right in front and center, but you handled it well as there are details in the shadow. TFS. Loi

Amazing POV and detail Morkel. It has an almost 3D effect to it.

This unique point of view certainly emphasizes the massiveness of the head! I like the visual triangle of the nostrils leading up to the real triangle of the horn, and then off to the sides to include those unexpected delicate fringes of the ears.

Hi Morkel, I like the idea of the low POV looking up, but Artie sowed the seed and think, perhaps the symmetrical head on would be better? Like to have seen it at 900px to maximise the full potential.

    Hi Morkel,
all good for me.The POV is extraordinary .The bunker could be a really great photo option .
Like the texture and the detail you extracted, not 100% sure about the toning.I would like to see a version with a silvery look.

I thought you do not tell about Rhino locations .

Andreas - my bad, slip of the mind - (edited the OP now, thanks)

Thanks everyone, I think the horn shape/contour would have been slightly lost in a direct-stare?

    Will revisit the toning.

    Hi Morkel,

had a look and would darken the lit parts of the rhino more. That's just me, as usual
I am not sure about this angle yet and how the rhino looks! You might have better ones on your drive!

    Have a great eve

    Ciao
    Anette
