    Default Collared Aracari

Having missed getting a clear shot of this species on my trip to Panama several years ago, he was high on my target list when I went to Belize a few weeks back. The driver that took us from the airport to the lodge advised that the only thing I had to worry about was isolating a single bird in the frame. Little had I known that groups of them hung around the feeder trays gorging themselves on fruit. On this occasion I was able to get close to him, but it was dark, rainy day. Full-frame (cropped a slivver off bottom and left, added equivalent to top and right). C&C appreciated.

    D7000, 500f4, ISO 3200, 1/320s @ f/7.1 manual, built-in flash @ 0EV.

PS Tried to change the title to correct a typo -- should be Aracari -- but I couldn't get it to change. Maybe a mod could fix it?

Lovely sharpness, exposure and colors, Bill. Nice use of flash. This species tops my list if/when I get to travel south.
I was about to comment on the slight bit of noise when I noticed the high ISO - very well handled.
Because of the small amount of room below and because the tail is hidden, I keep feeling that it's clipped. Maybe adding a bit to the bottom will help, but I'm not sure.
    TFS.

A bird with a nice pose!
Very cool eye contact, the BG is great and I like the sharpness overall. I find the flash a bit harsh on the bird and wish for a better perch.

You did very well here Bill. I like the colours, pose, and I'm OK with the perch.

    Corrected the title for you...
