    Hi -

I posted one other more cropped version of this owl last summer and wanted to try again with a different look and more environment. The sun was really low and I got really nice light on its eyes. I know there are a lot of OOF branches in this shot, but I wanted to see if by including more of the environment it makes it any easier to look at. I know its busy but its more about the mood and the owl's character

I cropped about 15-20% off for composition and did some minor sharpening of the owl's eyes. if you look closely you can see its sibling asleep in the back of the sycamore tree nest. Saved at a quality of 84 in PS to keep under 400kb.

I really like what you were trying to do with your image here, Ashleigh. It's nice to see the large size of the nest and the designs on the tree trunks. What hurts this image for me is the one branch directly to the left of the owlet. The others work quite nicely.

I agree with Marina. I do love how it shows how large the nest is...looks like we can see a bit of the sibling at right!

    Hi Marina and Daniel,

Thank you for your comments. It's too bad about the branch I know. This used to be a Bald Eagle nest which is why it is probably so big. I'm going to check it again soon to see if its being used this year.

Thank you and have a nice weekend, Ashleigh
