    Default Little Blue Heron

I caught this little blue on the way back from a kayak shoot on Barnegat Bay in New Jersey. The heron was on a wildlife refuge island with heavy marsh so while the green and red tones are not evenly distributed throughout the image, they are natural to the setting and capture.

Hi Rob, I really like these type of images with the subject blending in to the surroundings. I fine with the colours. I would maybe move the heron a little more into the frame, and 'soften' the few blades of grass that are showing up. My eye keeps going to them.

I like this too. Very peaceful and abstract. Great light and detail on the heron

Hi Rob, agree with Stuart just move the bird into the frame a tad if you can, I do think this is top class, the sort of image that really rocks my boat!

Lovely shot, gorgeous colours and fine focus. To get this from a kayak is no mean feat, ..... impressive!

Nice idea looks good. It would look better if you moved the bird a little more to the left.

Beautiful image! I also love this kind of images!

I would like to ask if you ran any noise reduction to the bird? it seems a bit soft? It may be my work monitor; but you can try sharpening a bit.

But again beautiful image and colors!

I like the layered BG and the composition you chose.
I feel that the heron needs some midtone adjustments. She/he appears quite dark and needing more detail.
You could also see what selectively increasing the exposure on the heron would do as well.
Very nice feeling to the image,
    Gail
