This is not a really rare species over here, but not really common that they'll except a photographer at close range. I am happy with it. Like to hear your thoughts

Reason: added image
I too like the low angle and head position. The bird can be selected and adjusted to brighten it up - levels, curves or perhaps both will improve its look. Selectively sharpen the head too.
Hi Hillebrand Agree with previous and can add fill flash would have help. The belly part is a bit dark. Might be able to lighten in PS ....... btw can't really tell if that is a band? If it is the image need to go to the other bird gallery !!!
Thanks guys. I thought that I could get away with f10 and shoulder focus. I agree with the flash. No excuse, but my batteries were drained for my flash. D# batteries. I am searching for a real good brand now (any tips from Europeans?) The bird is tagged/ banded indeed, but a lot of birds in western europe are (good for research, bad for photo's). Are your rules for choosing the right gallery that strict? Next upload I'll run the band through photoshop. No problem.
