    Frank:

Great low shooting angle, well exposed except perhaps a slight loss of detail in whites behind the eye.

I really like pano crops in general for stretched out waterfowl like loons and grebes, but my personal preference would be for less below and more above here. Perhaps consider a version with 25% less below and a balancing amount above.
would also be nice to have the head a bit our way.

    Cheers

Like the low angle and pose. I too would prefer more space above and less below. I wish my grebe images were as good as this.

After reworking this composition, you'll have a stunning image here. Love the low angle and great colors.

I love the colors and details brought out on the bird. A fantastic camera angle, nice light and soft FG/BG really set this one apart. Agree with prior re: frame position, if there's room. Only suggestion I have would be to remove the tiny secondary catch light to clean the eye up a bit. Wish it were in my collection.

I would move it down just a tad, I sort of like the different comp, just a bit tight on top.
    Superb IQ as usual.

Excellent shooting angle & IQ. Very nice water pattern. I wonder as I see this Grebe in breeding plumage in this time of the year.

Hi Frank, love the low angle, together with the 'stretched' pose. Good feather detail showing, lovely calm water, and I can see a version with more of that lovely green BG above, and less below.

    Thank you all.

    The background has tonal breaks.
In this version, I have tried this to reduce.

Lovely shot I have tried not to read previous comments. I would take even a little more off the base, adding a bit more to the top. Exposure looks excellent though being hypercritical I suspect there is a tad more detail to be had in the bright highlights around the eye. lovely colours and background - I must check out the grebe scene where I live!

    Hi Frank,

i prefer the repost. More space above the bird works better (for my taste). But in the repost is the color around the eye a little gray. In the OP looks this area better.
The low angle is perfect and i love the details in the plumage. Nice BG and FG. Well done, Frank.
