    Default Rosy-billed Pochard

This afternoon in one of the small ponds at the Miami Zoo I found this Rosy-billed Pochard. They are native to South America. The drab female was coming up from behind.

I brought along a tripod but to get positioned quickly and easily I switched to shooting hand held. The layout at the zoo make it hard to get down to eye level with the duck. This was as close as I could get.

    Henry,

Lovely water to compliment the colors of the Pochard. I think the image would be a bit stronger without the female in the back left corner, and maybe without the reflection of the leaf on the top right.

I know what it's like to not be able to get any lower. While it would have helped here, it's not a deal breaker. I might also consider removing some of the white in the reflections of the head. Just to clean it up a bit.

If you go back, please share!

You have nice water and a cool looking duck, I just don't like the other duck in the photo.
