I love the perch and the pose. Sharpness is pretty good. Catchlight looks a little artificial to me. This image suffers from a great deal of noise both in the BG and the bird. Was this significantly underexposed and then lightened?

I really like the BG and the perch is superb! Doug is right about the noise, although it might be pixelation from a huge crop, or just poor processing.

Wish the noise/ pixelation was not there.

It seems to me you may have some sharpening halo especially around the head. Perhaps less sharpening would help.

    Roy,

I love the perch and the three pods - each getting smaller as they get closer to the bird. Good positioning on the bird. Issue with the BG mentioned.

You're right on Doug. This was underexposed due to shaded backyard and no use of flash.

Robert, you and Doug are correct. My processing has always been poor:o and my noise reduction program just dosen't do the job. I should really take a photoshop class or find a good tutor.

Very nice pose and perch. I would definitely run some noise reduction on the BG. Too bad a few parts on the bird are blown out.

Roy don't look any further !!!! O'toole is the best around !!!! :) I highly recommend him !!!!

btw if you nail the right exposure you should not have that much problem with noise. A Mk2 at 640 should be giving you good results or at least easily fixed with NoiseNija. The other factor is cropping!! No amount of PS will help you with large crops !!!

One more thing to look at is the posting size. As presented is 82kb We have increased to 200 kb Should take advantage. If yo need help please drop a PM !!!
