    I have looked at this image several times and even taken it into PS. I keep feeling that it should be blowing me away, but something isn't working for me. I think maybe there are too many elements if that makes sense, esp environmental elements. I tried a few different crops that I felt helped. Wonder if you were able to take any images from a lower angle.

    Hi Marina.

    On Antarctic trips there are prescribed limits beyond which you cannot stray. Thus, I could not approach closer to the water and had to shoot down from a slope. It may be that you find the colored foreground elements distracting. I've looked at it as a possible monochrome; that is an alternative. But my preference is to show the birds in their natural environment.
