I really like the pine needles fanning out in the BG.
I would clone out the black branch that looks like a snake to me!
I would sharpen the bird as it looks a bit soft.

Hi William, a bit central for me, would liked if you could have moved to the right so you have more space to the right and even where the subject hid the dark wispy branch in the BKG. Perhaps a tad higher in frame too, WDYT? I agree, the subject is soft, but all it needs is more sharpening. If you do apply more sharpening do it as an adjustment layer so you can apply some NR to the BKG. I would also drop the highlights, they are look a bit bright, likewise the blacks look a little choked in the shadow areas. The lichen indicates just how clean the air is, but grows oh so slowly but adds a nice touch to the perch.

Hi Steve, thanks for that, I will do some more work on this image, especially with the sharpening, yes, i like the lichen, I thought it added a wee bit more to the image. I also liked the pine needles in the BG.

Hope your getting some good shots where you are

The best part of the image is the BG which is cool with those wispy pine needles! Do you have a frame where the subject is looking towards our left instead?
