    Default Australian Magpie

This is a common, but iconic species here in Australia. Probably not your "usual" perch or setting for this species, but I thought I'd try something a little different from the norm

    Thanks for looking, Greg

    Greg,

John mentioned it and I agree, the vegetation couldn't frame the bird any better! A subtle detail, but even the leaves are turned in the right direction. Well done!

What a killer image, Greg. You really have these set ups down pat. I would personally prefer seeing a little more canvas. Love the framing with the leaves!!!!

Killer setup shot Greg. Everything looks great and the exposure is right on the money. Awesome blacks. I like the pose and the BG you chose but like the perch you posted on NS better. Great setup!

Started to critique this image earlier but followed the link to your website. You have some amazing images on there.
Your setups are great. You are the "Alan Murphy" of down under!!
perfect pose paralell to the sensor and excellent exposure on the blacks and whites.
I would like a bit more room all around for personal taste but really like it as is.
What is the yellow in the BG? Is it that yellow in real life?

Thanks as always for the feedback guys!

Gail, the yellow BG is my dead lawn . Probably the exact opposite to you guys in North America, we have had an incredibly hot and dry month or 2, sometimes getting 40C for several days in a row!
Consequently, our normally lush gardens are looking very bedraggled (in fact dead)!
    Cheers Greg
