    Hello, a common goldeneye, taken a few days ago at Crystal Springs Garden in Portland, OR.

    It looks like a Lesser Scaup to me. The beak looks over saturated. Nice water pattern and nice head turn.

    Hi terry,

    The only suggestion I would make was to shoot from a lower angle. Im not sure if it was possible at this location but and eye to eye point of view could had improved the image a lot.

    While normally shooting from a lower angle lends itself to a more powerful image, I am liking this perspective. The BG water and the color of the bird are really working well together to create an interesting image. Your image needs quite a bit of CW rotation. If you bring a straight line down from your eye to the reflection of the eye, they should match.

    Still doesn't look level to my eyes. The bird's beak and eyes should be meeting its reflection. I think you may have corrected a bit too much. I also think your bird could use a little more sharpening. You're heading in the right direction.
