I really like the translucent look that you can get with a light box, showing the veins of the leaf. I like the framing and vignette but it seems just a bit too gray. Maybe experiment with placing the vignette so it surrounds the red leaf, so there is not a bright white spot drawing your eye just below the leaf. That might allow more of the reds to show through. The end of the stem could use a more subtle transition into the bkgd, without the scratches that show. I love playing with flowers on the light box!
I like the pink and gray together, and the dark border is very fitting with the dark stem and veins. The size of the vignette works very well. I'd have to see it differently to be sure, but I think I like the offset between the flower and the light part of the background.
Grahame- I like the colors and simplistic approach. The use of a light table really shows off the delicate veining of the flower. I'm at odds with the vignette-this piece has a clinical feel to it, I feel that the vignette competes with the flower rather than enhances the image though I do like the border. Perhaps a beveled edge to make the table appear more glasslike?
Interesting ideas above. The stem works well for me. I really like this and feel it could yield several nice versions with variations! A little more sharpness and contrast in the middle would work well, too, I think.
Many Thanks I played too but nothing seemed to work

Thanks Dennis I think part of the problem is the intense colour I have just posted another.

Thank you will try some variations but none seem to work

I like the light pad effect, and might even try a coloured vignette, same as one of the tones in the flower, maybe at a lower opacity.
Thanks Jackie I have tried a few different colours and a light blue green is not bad will keep trying
