PYGMY juvenile in shade of large Ponderosa Pines. 5 owlets + the mother, however they were uncooperative and would not come together for a group picture.

Oh wow, I like this image a lot. Tack sharp focus brings out great detail in the feathers. The tree trunk adds some environment yet is out of focus enough to really pop the owl off the frame. Eyes are also great. Like the perchl, right down to the green lichen on the end. I'd consider cropping out the green on the left. A small thing, but also maybe remove the large reflection in the the left eye. Terrific image, would love to have this image myself.

Beautiful! I support John's remark about cropping out the green on the left.

love this guy, could have been a great family portrait! I agree with the cropping suggestions above. I am learning to really look for the details when processing because of all the suggestions I have read in this forum. Sometimes I get up for 5 minutes and come back for a fresh look

Amazing 3D look to this shot! Excellent sharpness on the subject. I think cropping the green area on the left would improve an already solid photograph. Can't make up my mind whether I like the sprig of green on the end of the perch or not... Hmmm. Super shot though, congrats :)

Wow amazing focus on this cute owl! I like the little green leaf thing on the branch I think it complements the owl's eye color a little bit. I would also crop out the green on the left side. Great shot! 4000 ISO, wow.

What a beautiful owl, and the eyes are so crystal clear! I like the tree trunk, but agree with either cropping out the green space at left or cloning in some more tree colour. I wonder if did any work near the tip of the perch? Just seems like there is some processing evidence in that area...if not, then some clean up there would be a good thing. I am seeing a bluish or cyan-ish cast to the image, easy to fix by adding yellow and/or red to the colour balance. Love the stare and also the tiny bits of scraggly hairs on the head :-)

very handsome owl, nice details. I agree with the comments above, Dan made some good points.

PS. the repost still has the greenish cast, have you had a chance to calibrate your monitor recently?
