    I made this photo years ago with the 20D and always liked it. The bird assumed several cool stretching positions and this was my favorite. It really did start out to be an example of DOF as just the bird and sidewalk under it were in sharp focus. First I used a radial blur in Lightroom and other basic adjustments. Then I used Machine Wash plugin to add a texture to it which now hides most of the OOF areas. (You can download Machine Wash and use it in basic mode with a few textures etc. without buying it by registering during installation and it generates a code for you and then only using the non-paid textures, washes, backgrounds etc. http://www.misterretro.com/filters/machine-wash-deluxe Check the box about filters on the the first basic screen in the plugin.

    Cool! Really like the colors and tonalities, and the texture, especially above the bird. Lovely when they stretch!

    I like how you made the killdeer nearly blend into the bkgd with the saturated color, lines and textures. You give "camouflage" a modern look! The name "machine wash" brings all kinds of images into my head and I must check it out.

    The background is perfect for this bird! Love the luscious colors and textures. I think the shadow gives it depth. The only suggestion I have is to do something to the head to create more separation between it and the bg. Maybe lighten it, add saturation, or remove a bit of the texture. Wonderful image!

    I love the colour palette Judy, and the repost works very well. Love all the tones of rusts/reds.
