    Default Screech Owl Family

After the first owlet left the nest on its own, the adult flew in, stopped there for enough for 2 clicks and it was gone. It was trying to get the owlets to leave the nest. The second owlet fledged shortly after the adult flew away. The sounds they made during the process was fascinating. I miss those owls.

I love this! I am not usually afan of flashed shots but this is good.
The owlets are adorable and the poses of all 3 owls are perfect.
Love the owls' foot on the tree. I also like the growth lines on the tree. Adds a nice flow to the image,

Beautiful family, love the two popping put.. One thing about flash, which I must say, I have zero experience with flash, is the spots left behind in the eyes, seems distracting in each eye. Congrats on your shot, manual everything, plus the two-headed Owl, lol, Nicely done.

Great job of getting the shot in such a brief window of opportunity. Thanks for the story, it adds a lot to the character of this image.

This is a lovely moment, Troy. As said above, a little more light would have helped. Great job at the high ISO, glad the new Canon cameras can match the Nikons at high ISO at last .

Thank you all for the comments. Morkel, it is almost at par, that is from my experience on using both systems. I rarely shoot at 10K ISO, :)
This nest has now fledged, I am hoping for double clutch since they are way early. Got more nests to document. Hope to be able to share more images soon.
